A national level hospitality entrance exam for admission to the BSc (Hospitality & Hotel Administration) program is called the National Council for Hotel Management & Catering Technology Joint Entrance Exam (NCHMCT JEE). On behalf of the National Council for Hotel Management & Catering Technology (NCHMCT), NTA administers the exam once a year. In collaboration with the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), NCHMCT offers the three-year BSc (HHA) program. All of the participating Institutes accept the NCHM JEE score for admission to the BSc (HHA) programs offered by their individual institutions.
The Institutes of Hotel Management (IHMs) use the NCHMCT JEE scores for admission. About 27 private IHMs and about 21 central IHMs that are affiliated with NCHMCT offer BSc (HHA) courses, with admission based on the NCHMCT JEE. There are 25 state IHMs, 1 PSU IHM, and about 21 central IHMs.

The candidate must successfully complete the 10+2 exam from a recognized university or board. The qualifying exam for applicants must have included English as a core, functional, or elective subject.

No, taking the NCHMCT JEE is not required in order to enter the hotel management field. You can take any other entrance exam to be admitted to colleges of hotel management. Without taking an entrance exam, you can also enrol in diploma- and degree-level hotel management courses.
This exam is conducted only once in a year.
