What is a CIMA Course?

CIMA (Chartered institute of Management Accountants) established in the year 1919, is a globally recognized qualification for careers in Business & Finance. CIMA is the world's largest professional body of Management Accountants with more than 250,000 members working in around 180 countries.

What qualifications do I need for CIMA?

Students without any exemptions or a finance or accounting background will most likely start studying CIMA through the Certificate in Business Accounting (Cert BA). Is CIMA exam difficult to pass?

As a tutor, I know that the CIMA course material is complex. Particularly if you have limited previous accounting experience, work full-time, and strive to complete all the exams in 3 years. A combination of these things makes CIMA more difficult. But it's not beyond your ability – if you're absolutely committed.

How many papers are there in CIMA?

There are 12 CIMA exams in total, consisting of nine Objective Tests and three Case Study exams. The Objective Tests are available on-demand and last for 90 minutes each, while the Case Study exams last for three hours and can be taken during four exam windows throughout the year (February, May, August and November.)

How many times you can take the CIMA ?

Individuals can take an exam four times in a rolling year (the initial attempt and three retakes - the 365 rolling calendar date is from the date of the first exam attempt). Please note: Individuals retaking an exam are required to purchase a new exam registration for each exam attempt.

What is the pass mark in CIMA?

Overall, you need to get around 70% of questions correct to pass, however when CIMA releases results they use a scaled score, which means that you need to get at least 100 out of 150 marks.
