HSK1 (Beginner level): This is the basic level of the Chinese language test. This level will help you know the basics of pinyin, Chinese words, expressions, and phrases in spoken conversation.
HSK2 (Beginner level): This learning level is the second level of the Chinese Language Proficiency Test. This level consists of grammar and vocabulary to conduct fundamental communication in daily life.
HSK3 (Pre-Intermediate Level): This level is the bridging level. It teaches linguistic skills expressed in terms of language activities like reading and writing.
HSK4 (Intermediate level): This learning level has three sections: reading comprehension, language knowledge, and listening comprehension. You can talk to native mandarin speaking people post completing the HSK4 level.
HSK5 (Pre-Advanced level): It has a higher difficulty level. It consists of reading books, magazines, and newspapers in Chinese. It will give you the knowledge of the mandarin language to deliver a speech in Chinese.
HSK6 (Advanced Level): You can easily understand mandarin language in written or spoken. It will make you a fluent speaker and listener.

HSK6- Once you have reached this level, you are free to go in any direction: read news, articles, and books, listen to podcasts, watch Chinese television, and communicate with native speakers comfortably. It is the level of Native or Bilingual proficiency.
The HSK test assesses foreign citizens' skills to express various communicative intentions in the writing form using correct words and phrases. To understand different types of written information in mandarin, comprehend information in mandarin given aurally, participate in dialogues, and produce a monologue.
Mandarin is a complex language. It's a more complex language than learning a language that is related to English (Dutch, German, Swedish, Romance languages). Expect to put in around three years to become fluent in Mandarin.
