Marine Biogeochemistry Course

This course explores the relationships between marine chemistry, and marine biological and geochemical processes - with a focus on developing an understanding of the interplay and responses between ocean chemistry, marine biology, and global change. It will also focus on processes at the air-sea interface, the production of organic matter in the upper ocean, the remineralization of organic matter in the water column, and the processing of organic matter in the sediments. This course includes an analysis of the cycles of carbon and nutrients as well as developing an understanding of the role of the ocean carbon cycle in interannual to decadal variability, paleoclimate, and the anthropogenic carbon budget
