Bored at home during quarantine?

Here are some ideas that can help you engage in activities to knock out the boredom.

Summer time is meant for going on trips, having fun with your friends, playing in pools and doing things that you love.

However, the summer of 2020 has forbidden us to do most of the things we love and have forced us to stay at home during quarantine.

But staying at home shouldn’t pull us down or prevent us from doing the things we enjoy.

Here are some tips which will help you make the most of your summer. It doesn’t need to be restricted to high school students, but all students and even adults can take ideas from this blog.

1. Find out how you want to utilize your time

Before you start rushing into things, you must have an agenda, a plan of things you want to achieve this summer.

Your plans can range from academics to simply having fun but one must have a certain list of things they want to accomplish to make the task of achieving them much easier.

Many of us may volunteer too much, plan too much, and have our plate full with activities and may not be able to accomplish all of them and become disappointed.

To avoid this situation, it is important to plan out our schedule and make sure it is all inclusive and realistic so that you can accomplish what you planned.planning

2. Take time each day to go out or do some physical activity

For a balanced and healthy lifestyle, it is important to keep the mind fresh.

Going out instills a sense of calmness in oneself even if it is going out for a walk only for 10 minutes a day.

The outdoors is a place of potential and it beholds beautiful sights to be discovered.

Go on that walk, maybe even take your camera with you, you never know what you might encounter. Perhaps a beautiful sunset or a squirrel munching on a nut? Capture the moment and it never hurt to have some good pictures to show off, right?

If the heat is scorching and you are not able to go out of your home, try an indoor physical activity. Like riding on a stationary bike, stretching, yoga and so much more.

It is important to keep your body as well as your mind fit not just during the summer but throughout the year.Physical Activity

3. Take time out for the things you love doing or hone new skills

Summer is the perfect opportunity to hone new skills and for doing the things you love. You have ample time with you so why not make the best out of it?

Is there a new recipe that you have been meaning to try? Go ahead and make it and make yourself and your family happy. Just remember not to burn the whole kitchen down.

Do you play an instrument, sketch, paint, dance and usually don’t have the time to do such activities? Well now is the time to practice your skills as an instrumentalist, an artist, a dancer and maybe in the process impress your friends and family with your talents.

If you take classes now, you may get a head start on credits when you start your college career, which may help you save money and time in the long run.

Classes may also help you brighten up your applications and help with your college admissions as well.

5. Challenge yourself further, mentally.

Take part in competitions, test your skills.

There are various levels of competitions for innumerable fields.

You may be a story writer, a poet, a photographer, a graphic designer, a debater ………Test your skills through competitions and make the most of your time.

There is no time better to participate in activities and competitions and it may also brighten up your CV and dazzle colleges with the prizes you may win

6. Binge watch your favorite shows and movies

Just because you want to make most of your summer doesn’t mean that you can’t take some time off for yourself.

Catch up on the latest shows or re-watch your old favorites, just remember to stay balanced and happy!

And Don’t Forget

Relax. Just because you want to be productive and maybe show colleges how good you are doesn’t mean you can’t take some time to recuperate and enjoy some guilt free wastage of time.
